Introducing Carrie Holbo to the Northwestern Community, Winter 2018

By Casey Klauck, Grants Assistant, Office for Sponsored Research

The Office for Sponsored Research (OSR) would like to give a warm welcome to its newest member and Grants Officer, Carrie Holbo! Coming most recently from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Carrie brings with her over fifteen years of experience in research administration related work, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual fundraising. As a Grants Specialist for the NEA, she excelled at non-profit work while simultaneously supporting a personal passion for the humanities and the arts. She looks forward to bringing such passion to her work as a Grants Officer here at Northwestern University. Originally from Lindenhurst, IL, Carrie completed her undergraduate degree at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, before moving to Madrid, Spain to complete her master’s degree in non-profit administration at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. (Yes, she speaks Spanish). Following her time in Spain, Carrie lived in Washington, D.C. for seventeen years before moving back to IL to be closer to family. In addition to her time spent in the world of research administration, Carrie has also built a successful photography business, where she specializes in both wedding and family photography. While this business is no longer her primary focus, she enjoys meeting new people and being able to capture some of their happiest days. Please join OSR in welcoming Carrie! She looks forward to working with you all.
